With a specialized emphasis on flame retardant compliant materials designed for use in mattresses and sleep products, we manufacture our family of products at our 210,000-square-foot headquarters that includes a state-of-the-art laboratory, factory and warehouse. We also service our customers through four additional warehouses strategically located across the United States, as well as three foreign warehouses through joint ventures.

Company History

Founded in 1987 as Precision Custom Coatings by Peter Longo, the current chairman of what would become Precision Textiles, the company began as a supplier of interlinings to distributors and fabric wholesalers working within the apparel industry. When the apparel business shifted offshore, Scott Tesser, today’s chief executive officer, joined the company and established a business-model in Asia, allowing the company’s customers easier access to products in high demand.

In 1998, Longo and his then partner sold the company – formerly known as PCC – to a private equity firm. The ownership was short-lived, and Longo and Tesser acquired the company in 2000.

While the company’s apparel business overseas continued to grow, Longo and Tesser formed Precision Textiles to expand into other industries in the U.S.

In 2004, the company moved into the automotive industry, first supplying car manufacturers with materials used for speakers, upholstery liners, dashboard and door panel insulation, as well as headliners.

When the federal flammability standard requiring mattresses pass open flame tests was being debated later that same year, the company expanded into the bedding industry.

Today, the Precision Textiles is a go-to provider for innovative nonwovens and laminate solutions for the bedding, automotive and healthcare industries and has established itself as an integral partner for bedding producers by providing innovative proven solutions designed and tested in its state-of-the-art laboratory in New Jersey.
